Legion of Honor Tour with Stephen Woodall

HBC Member Event Calendar

We’re working hard to improve our programs and make them both more enjoyable and interesting for our membership. We will no longer be holding the Board Meeting just prior to the program so that our monthly meeting will be devoted to activities both hospitable and interesting for everyone who attends. We also will be holding some programs and meetings on days other than our usual first Tuesday of the month so that many who have not been able to attend in the past can participate. And some of our initial events this year will be held in new venues as we try to make greater use of the resources of the Bay Area book community. Please mark these dates in your calendar and join us!

A Tour of the Reva and David Logan Collection of Illustrated Books
at the Legion of Honor, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco
Lincoln Park 100 34th Avenue at Clement Street San Francisco, CA 94121
Wednesday, January 24th 2018 10 -- 11:30AM

That consummate bibliophile, Stephen Woodall, currently serving as the Logan Collection Specialist for the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts at the Legion of Honor will provide us an unique opportunity to view both the current exhibition of the Reva and David Logan Collection of Illustrated Books and some of the other interesting books and bindings not currently on view. The Logan collection of modern artist illustrated books, comprised of over 300 books collected by the Chicago couple over the course of forty years was given to the Fine Arts Museums in 1998. Stephen Woodall is well known to many of us from his former positions as Director of the Center for Book and Paper Arts, Columbia College Chicago and Artistic Director of the San Francisco Center for the Book.

This event will be limited to 15 members; please RSVP to eventshbc3@gmail.com

Following the presentation we will reconvene for an informal lunch in the Legion of Honor Cage at 12 pm.
