Upcoming Workshop Registration
Workshops are offered several times a year, at various bay area locations, either at teachers' studios or at the San Francisco Center for the Book. Courses are held by nationally recognized instructors with hands-on instruction in fine binding, book structures, paper decorating, equipment maintenance and many other techniques. Open to all those who are interested, some course may have prerequisites.

Number of Participants: 10 students minimum, 12 students maximum
The two-day workshop on Adhesives will provide a thorough introduction to both natural and synthetic adhesives, reversible and permanent. The presentation will include familiar glues, pastes, and films; how they are formulated, how they bond and how they age. Methods of application will be demonstrated and discussion will include what adhesives can be used in conjunction with others to utilize the best properties of both. Emphasis will be on the chemical, physical and practical aspects of adhesives so that participants can better understand their usage.
