The HBC Summer Picnic was a Success!

TOUR OF LETTERFORM ARCHIVE

Join us for a guided tour of the Permanent Collection at the Letterform Archive in San Francisco. Our tour will focus on pieces from the collection that highlight fun and unique binding styles. While this is a free event, we do encourage donations to the Letterform Archive.

WORKSHOPS WITH GAVIN DOVEY

There are still spots open in Photo Transfer on Leather, Sunday, November 3: a workshop using contemporary image making processes and applying them to fine binding work and artists books. $200 members; $240 non-members

Last Call for Entries

The Estonian Association of Designer Bookbinders are happy to invite you to take part in the 7th International Exhibition of Artistic Bookbinding, Scripta Manent VII.

200 numbered copies of printed texts of Arvo Pärt’s music „In principio. The Word in Arvo Pärt’s Music“ are printed for this exhibition. This book brings together 81 texts in nine languages, complete with English translations.

RAINBOW FLAG PROJECT

Thank you all for your enthusiastic participation in the Rainbow Flag Project! We’re thrilled to announce that we have 29 members signed up.

Thanks to the efforts of HBC Board members Insiya, Amanda, and Beth, along with Jennie Hinchcliff’s assistance, we successfully apportioned the flag at the San Francisco Center for the Book. Each participant will receive a 10" wide by 20' length that includes all the colors of the flag.

For those who paid for shipping, your share will be mailed to you by next week. The remaining members will receive an email from Insiya Dhatt (insiya@insiya.com) to arrange a pickup location for theirs.

We are excited to showcase these unique creations at the upcoming HBC53 Exhibition, which will be held at the American Bookbinding Museum in the Spring of 2025.

Please remember that completed projects are due by March 30, 2025. We look forward to seeing how each of you will channel your creativity!
