HBC53 COMES TO A CLOSE

Thank you to everyone who visited the American Bookbinders Museum to view the HBC53 Members Exhibition. Our closing event, “Behind the Covers,” was well attended and gave everyone an opportunity to see some truly amazing works of bookbinding up close.

Thank you also to the American Bookbinders Museum for hosting our exhibition this year. It’s always a treat to visit their incredible space, and we’re eternally grateful for their partnership.

PRIDE FLAG PROJECT VIDEO

If you didn’t get a chance to view the Pride flag books at the exhibition, we’ve uploaded a video to the HBC website. The video showcases each of the books our members made from the Pride flag that were submitted for the exhibition. Thanks to Insiya Dhatt and Beth Redmond for their hard work documenting this incredible project!

We’d especially like to thank Robin Brandes for opening her home to us and hosting the picnic. We couldn’t have such wonderful events without our members, and we thank everyone who attended and shared the sunny day and delicious food with us.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to fill out our holiday party survey last month. Your answers helped us a great deal in starting the planning for this year’s gathering.

Arion Press is proud to announce SFMOMA's Director of Library David Senior as the third speaker in the Arion Press Craft Talk series, in which we draw from our creative community to highlight the joy and industry of various crafts. David will be presenting a talk called “How to Make a Contemporary Art Library” sharing the craft of building collections and the continuum of artist books.

The talk will be held in San Francisco on Wednesday, September 24 from 6:00pm - 8:30pm at the Bayfront Theater in Fort Mason. It will then be followed by a reception in the Arion Press Gallery.
