HBC52 June 1 -August 18, 2024, at the SFPL Skylight Gallery, 100 Larkin St. The opening reception was well attended and enjoyed by all present. See below for some photos from the event.

Your next opportunity to join your friends and fellow bookbinders at HBC52 will be at the Gallery Walk-through Sunday, July 21, 4:00- 5:30. Several members will talk about their work and other work they find particularly interesting. Audience participation will be encouraged. We hope to see you there.

PANEL DISCUSSION: FINDING YOUR VOICE

Rainbow Pride Flag Project

HBC recently came into possession of one of the Castro’s retired Pride flags. We're thrilled to announce an opportunity for everyone to get creative with this iconic flag and invite you to join us in this worthwhile endeavor!

You must be a current member of HBC to participate. If you’re not, don’t fret, you can join or renew your membership. Please visit our Pride Flag Project page for more details.

WORKSHOPS

WORKSHOPS WITH GAVIN DOVEY

HBC is excited to announce three workshops in November with Gavin Dovey, professional fine binder.

Eggshell Veneer, Saturday, November 2: a workshop in a decorative technique used by many Art Deco design bindings, though useful in a wide range of applications from artists books to fine bindings. $200 members; $240 non-members
Photo Transfer on Leather, Sunday, November 3: a workshop using contemporary image making processes and applying them to fine binding work and artists books. $200 members; $240 non-members
Caped Split Board Binding, Weds - Sun, November 6-10: a Bradel variation in full leather workshop. Previous leather binding experience is required. $1,100 members; $1,300 non-members
