Sutro Library Visit at SF State

Please join us on a visit to Sutro Library, located on the grounds of SF State University, for a private curated viewing of select rare manuscripts. Sutro Library was formerly the private collection of Adolph Sutro, who at one time owned the finest private library in America. Sutro Library houses his impressive rare book and manuscript collection. Thursday, October 22, 5pm. Space is limited. We will meet at the SFSU J. Paul Leonard Library, at the Peet's coffee inside, just before 5pm, and enter the Sutro Library together as a group. The library is located at 1630 Holloway Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94132.

This curated visit is by special arrangement. Normally access is limited to visiting scholars. This is a rare opportunity to view rare books and manuscripts from Sutro Library. There is no cost, but this tour is limited to current members of Friends of Calligraphy (FOC), Hand Bookbinders of CA (HBC) and Bay Area Art Conservation Guild (BAACG).

Please sign up by completing this short form if you would like to join the visit. Enrollments will be assigned on a first-come-first-served basis, space is limited. The first to sign up will be confirmed. Note: you must leave any bags in lockers provided free of charge at the library entrance.
