Celebrate Pride Month with Hand Bookbinders of California at the San Francisco Opera!

This June, our Rainbow Pride Flag Project—featuring unique books crafted from a historic Castro District Pride flag—will be on display at the War Memorial Opera House. The collection is displayed on the Dress Circle floor. Please note: Access is limited to ticketed attendees during performances.

Time: 5:00 p.m.- 7:30 p.m.

Tour Capacity: 15 people, HBC Members


Location: Begins at War Memorial Opera House 301 Van Ness Ave. (at Grove) and ends at Wisley Center 401 Van Ness Ave. (at McAllister
)

Join us Wednesday, June 24 at 5:00pm for a private tour lead by San Francisco Opera's Director of Archives, Barbara Rominski. We’ll view the Rainbow Pride Flag exhibition in the War Memorial building before moving to the Wilsey Center to view the historic photo galleries and tour the Opera’s archives. 
Plan to meet Program Chair, Emily Patchin, at the North Carriage Door is on the courtyard side of the opera house, the closest entrance to Van Ness Ave by 4:45pm. If you’ve signed up but can no longer attend please contact Emily at programs@handbookbinders.org or 831-521-0132 so we may allow members to take your place.

Considerations for members: This is a walking tour, but is accessible to wheelchairs and other mobility aids. Accessible restrooms are available in both buildings. Please wear comfortable clothing and footwear.
