In collaboration with Hand Bookbinders of California, San Francisco Center for the Book presents: Knife Sharpening with Mark Andersson.

Having the right tools in the proper condition is essential for every bookbinder. With his expertise and guidance, Mark Andersson will help overcome sharpening fears and students will leave this course with the confidence of knowing their can keep their tools in tip-top shape.
This two day course will cover the basics of knife sharpening for edge paring and lifting knives, as well as French points. We’ll talk about the advantages and disadvantages of Japanese water stones and micron sandpapers, and will explore using both those methods in the course.
