HBC 53 Exhibition - Intent to Enter

53rd HBC Annual Members’ Exhibition

May 17 to August 23 at The American Bookbinders Museum

This exhibition will Include:

Recent work by members

Rainbow Pride Artist Books

Last spring, HBC was the third recipient of a 30-by-20-foot Rainbow Pride flag, retired from San Francisco’s Harvey Milk Plaza in the Castro neighborhood. The flag was refreshed for the opening of the Castro Street Fair and first flew on the day of Dianne Feinstein’s passing, giving it historical significance for many.

The flag was divided into 10-inch by 20-foot sections, with each participating HBC member receiving a piece containing all its colors. Participants are tasked with transforming their section into a book art object, contributing to a collective celebration of its legacy.

Set Books

Two titles from, the late, Andrew Moorhouse’s Fine Press Poetry, in Rochdale, England.

Grimoire – New Scottish Folk Tales, wonderfully grim poems by Robin Robertson with expressive stark Drawings by Tim Robertson.

A Clockwork Diorama, a love story told in three-line verses by David Harsent complemented by 15 copperplate engravings by Veta Gorner.
