Join us for a Show & Tell with a twist. Board members Juliayn Coleman and Beth Redmond will show and tell us about a recent binding they’ve worked on. An HBC member in good standing (and accomplished book artist and teacher), Karen Hanmer, will show us a few bookbinding mistakes from which she learned lessons—and talk about what those learnings. HBC Programs Chair (and book artist with beginner’s mind), Bridget McGraw, will describe a mistake or two too.
This will be our first hybrid event! Join us in person at the San Francisco Center for the Book (SFCB), or via Zoom. Please join us on Tuesday, April 18th at 7:00 for a beverage and snacks. If you are interested in our HBC Board meetings, you are welcome to join us at 6:00 pm. It is a little-known fact that every board meeting is open to all members in good standing.
After the HBC business meeting, we will have a drink and set up the cameras for the Show & Tell. At 7:15, we will start our presentation and introduce our first show-&-teller.
Feel free to bring in a project (with or without a valuable mistake/lesson learned). All members—with and without items to share—are welcome.
This event will wrap up at 8:15 pm.
